Police in Kansas have revealed a bizarre reason why they were forced to stop an interrogation in September..
This was because the suspect wouldn’t stop farting.
The suspect, Sean Sykes Jnr, was taken in for questioning over gun and drug charges but cops had to end the interview early due to his flatulence.
Local newspaper the Kansas City Star reported that Sykes ‘leaned to one side of his chair and released a loud fart’ when asked his address.
Detectives wrote;
‘Mr. Sykes continued to be flatulent and I ended the interview.’
Details have been released of his interview after he was brought in for questioning two months ago.
He denied knowledge of the items and police decided not to charge the 24-year-old for intent to sell cocaine and being in possession of a firearm. Sykes was released but he was pulled over a second time this month in Kansas City.
Sykes has now been charged with stolen firearm offences and possession with intent to sell cocaine.
The detective’s report emerged during a court appearance Sykes made on Monday. He is currently being held in custody until a bond can be set.
