Muslim mum angry after school refuses to let daughter have day off to celebrate Eid

A MUSLIM mother is up in arms after her daughter’s school REFUSED to let her have the day off to celebrate an important religious holiday. The school girl was devastated to find out she and the other Muslim schoolchildren will not be allowed a day off today to mark Eid.

In a further slap in the face, Outwood Academy in Acklam, Middlesbrough, will close its doors on Friday due to a Professional Development (PD) day for teachers, in order to “coincide with Eid”.

But the girl’s mother, who doesn’t wish to be named, said: 

“Friday doesn’t mean anything. Eid is on Thursday.
