Manchester City are poised to announce the £32million signing of Nicolas Otamendi. Otamendi underwent a medical in Manchester today ahead of his move from Valencia and the deal could be confirmed on Thursday.The 27-year-old defender will sign a five-year deal with City and become their fifth summer signing after Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph, Enes Unal and Patrick Roberts, pushing their spending spree in this transfer window to £95m as Manuel Pellegrini tries to take back the title from Chelsea.
City are also expected to sign midfielder Kevin De Bruyne from Wolfsburg for a fee of around £56m, with talks ongoing with the German club.
City opened the season with two 3-0 wins over West Brom and Chelsea, and travel to Everton on Sunday.
