But when it was time to tell the story of what she went through. Her face creased into a frown as tears streamed down her face.<br />Her elder sister urged her on to tell everything that happened.<br />Blessing said,<br /><br /> “His (Christopher’s) wife had gone for a wedding programme that day. He was alone in the house.“I was playing outside before but as I came in and was about to open our door, he moved near me and dragged me by hand into their room.<br />“He locked the door and pulled down my panties. He then put his ‘thing’ inside me. That was the only time he did it.”<br />Blessing’s mother explained how she found out able the defilement of her daughter.<br />She said,<br /> “I did not know anything until the night when she told me that her private part was hurting her. I did not suspect anything and she did not tell me anything.<br />“I rubbed Vaseline on her to ease the pain but the following day when I wanted to bathe her, I realised that she was bleeding. I then suspected that somebody had been touching my daughter.<br />“As soon as I asked who had been touching her, she told me that it was our neighbour. He is even older than my husband!”<br />Christopher has a daughter of his own, who is in the same age group as Blessing.<br />He was arrested and detained at the Agbado Police Division, while the girl was taken for test and treatment.<br />While Christopher was in detention, he continued to deny that he ever touched the girl. But Blessing said he had no reason to lie while her parents said they believed their daughter.<br />However, after the pressure of numerous pleas from pastors and landlords in the area became too much, the girl’s parents were forced to write a letter to withdraw their case.<br />In order to douse the tension generated on the case, their landlady also signed an undertaken on Christopher’s behalf, and agreed to pay the sum of N25,000 in five instalments to Blessing’s parents.<br />“I just don’t know what that money is for because I have refused to take it. Is it for my daughter’s treatment or compensation? If it is for treatment, what I spent on her treatment, tests and drugs is even more than that,” the girl’s 41-year-old father said.<br />Our correspondent went in search of Christopher on Wednesday to get his side of the story. The fair complexioned man courteously offered our correspondent a chair but his attitude changed instantly when asked if he indeed raped the girl.<br />He demanded to know who notified our correspondent about the case. President Buhari Authorizes 5 Billion Naira For Boko Haram Victims

Although they have the right to presume that she is not guilty until convicted but do not have the right to portray her innocent of the allegations made against her, even before being interrogated. Their conduct presupposed that they are determined to intimidate the EFCC in its task of tackling corruption. That was how I lured her with a promise to give her money. I have grown up children older than her. I did not force her to follow me, she did willingly. It was raining at that time. I had not seen her before. I only saw her on that day. God would judge them if they go and label him a robber,” the woman said at the time.</div><div>But fast forward to July 28, 2015, the family said they visited the SARS headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos, only to be shown a photograph of the body of the victim and was told that he was an armed robber killed in a shootout with SARS operatives.</div><div> </div><div>One of the deceased’s relations, who was at the SARS office said that a red cloth with fetish objects attached to it had been tied on the deceased body.</div><div> </div><div>“When his body was taken away forcibly at Ajah, he had nothing like that on him. There were many Ajah youths around at the time, no gun was found on him. But in the photo they showed us, they had placed two guns on his body,” the relation, Mr. Kehinde Emmanuel said.</div><div> </div><div>Orimisan was sleeping in his small one room apartment when he was roused from bed by the sound of gunshots. He reportedly dashed out of his room and was gunned down by SARS operatives who were purportedly in the community on the trail or armed robbers.</div><div>Residents said the operatives shot at him simply because he was running at the sound of gunshot.</div><div>Orimisan was married and had two children.</div><div> </div><div>It was  learnt that since the day of the incident, Orimisan’s wife had not stopped sobbing.</div><div>“It got so bad that her family had to relocate her to Ondo State because she refused to eat or talk to anybody. The problem now is how to take care of the children that the SARS operatives have made fatherless,” Emmanuel said.</div><div> </div><div>The Civil Rights Liberty Organisation has taken up the case on behalf of the family, petitioning the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni.</div><div> </div><div>“SARS men who were armed to the teeth drove in in a Gestapo manner and invaded the area. In an unprovoked attack, they started shooting sporadically in the air. By the time the episode ended, the deceased was lying in a pool of his blood,” the group said in its petition.</div><div> </div><div>The organisation said the attack was unprovoked and unjustified, calling on the Lagos State Police Command, to conduct an immediate and proper investigation into the case to ensure justice is done for the family.</div><div> </div><div>In another petition sent to the Office of the Public Defender of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, the family vented their anger.</div><div> </div><div>“The SARS operatives like every other men of the Nigeria Police are fully aware that it is better for a suspect to escape than for one innocent citizen to be killed due to the misconduct of people who swore to protect lives and property,” the petition reads.</div><div> </div><div>The family has also called on the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, to prevail on the Lagos command to ensure that the SARS men responsible for the botched operation in which Orimisan died, is fished out and thoroughly investigated.</div><div> </div><div>The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Patricia Amadin, said even though she had not taken over as spokesperson in the command at the time of the operation, she would get details of the case and get back to our report.
