I regret what I did that day," he added.Hughes had been jailed in 2013 for three years and nine months for three separate assaults on Ms Gwilym and one of false imprisonment.</span></blockquote><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">He said while he was in prison Stacey wrote to him and after his release they resumed their relationship and in July, 2015, she agreed to marry him.<br />Hughes said he had never intended to resume his relationship with Ms Gwilym and had asked her to marry him only "to make her happy."<br />He told the court Ms Gwilym had accused him of stealing money from her and said she would get him sent back to prison.<br /><br /><i>Daily Mirror </i></span></div>

Ibrahim allegedly defrauded one Chief Ogwu Onoja (SAN) by offering to assist him in the payment of fees and processing of Certificate of Occupancy in respect of Mighty Star Academy.<br />The defendant was allegedly entrusted with the total sum of N12,102,824.00 (twelve million, one hundred and two thousand, eight hundred and twenty four naira) to process the document with the assurance that it will be ready in three months. The accused person took the money and has been keeping the victim’s hope hanging for over three and a half years.</span><a name="more"></a><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /><br />The accused pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him. In view of his plea, counsel to the EFCC, Msuur Denga asked the court to fix a date for trial to commence.<br /><br />Responding, the defence counsel, Princley Uchechukwu, through an oral application, urged the court to admit the accused to bail adding that, he would not do anything to frustrate his trial. Daily Sun gathered that the incident occurred  when the middle-aged man whose name could not be ascertained as at press time, allegedly pushed down his 69-year-old father during an argument.<br />Baba Basirat was said to have fallen, collapsed and died instantly.</span><a name="more"></a>On Wednesday morning, the suspect again went wild and vandalised a blue Honda Accord with registration number Lagos, AGL 763 AQ which belonged to his brother-in-law.He was later over-powered, given some sedatives and bound hands and legs. <br />In a bid to cover-up the incident from the police and the public, journalists who rushed to the scene of the crime were attacked by family members.<br /><br />Daily Sun gathered that a scuffle had occurred between the father and his son at the entrance when the former took him to church on Tuesday for deliverance from drug addiction.<br />It was during the scuffle between them that the son pushed his father who collapsed and was later confirmed dead at a private hospital.<br /><br />The 69-year-old man who was an indigene of Ogbomoso, Oyo State was said to have been rushed to Mercy Hospital in the Onikolobo area of Abeokuta where he was confirmed dead.<br />When our reporter visited the scene, the killer son was said to have been put on sedative and kept in a room with hands and feet tied. The corpse of his father was also being kept in another room.<br /><blockquote class="tr_bq">“As a parent, the father was not happy that the boy smokes Indian hemp and so much has been spent on him and he was not ready to take him to psychiatric hospital because of finance, that was what took them to the church before he came back and broke the wind screen of a car belonging to his brother-in-law.”</blockquote></div>

The Nigerian Army will get N17,468,992,640; Nigerian Airforce, N8,141,434,760; Nigerian Army outstanding balance from 2015 and second quarter, N4,348,438,112.<br /><br />The approval of the Senate was sequel to the report of the Senator Danjuma Goje-led Committee on Appropriations on the 2015 Supplementary Appropriation Bill.<br /><br />Earlier, the senators broke into an executive session for one hour as part of moves to discuss the appropriation bill and give the President a soft landing by passing the budget and as a follow up to last Thursday’s dinner the Senators were with the President where collaboration and synergy among the Executive and Legislature were emphasized.<br /><br /><br /><br /><i><b>Vanguard</b></i></span></div>

We were told that they both took some bottles of beer before Abass left. They said Michael was alone in his room before they saw his corpse.”</span></blockquote><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">The victim’s father, Abraham, explained that he was expecting his son to send him some money for upkeep and a project, when he was told he had died.</span><blockquote class="tr_bq"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">He said, “My other children who had been aware of the incident could not break the news to me because I was sick. Instead, they informed my friend, who called me to his house and broke the sad news to me.</span></blockquote><blockquote class="tr_bq"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">“The hotel management and the police have been dribbling us and telling us all kinds of lies. Even our lawyer was compromised and he has stopped picking my calls. I insisted that the matter be transferred from Ajah because I lost confidence in the police in that division.”</span></blockquote><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">However, the result of the autopsy indicated that the victim died of heart attack and hypertension.<br />Still, the family of the deceased insisted that the case had been tampered with and urged the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, to conduct investigation into the matter.<br />The hotel lawyer, Akran Akra, in a telephone interview with PUNCH Metro, denied that the hotel covered up anything.</span><blockquote class="tr_bq"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">He said, “There was no time that the hotel changed any story. We gave the police and the deceased’s family unlimited access to our IT rooms on several occasions.</span></blockquote><blockquote class="tr_bq"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">“The girl and the man did not go in together. She came in later as a visitor.</span></blockquote><blockquote class="tr_bq"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">“The fact of the case is that Michael checked into the hotel on the night of Friday, October 23, 2015. The room he checked into had earlier been reserved for him by one of his friends, who checked in earlier the same day.</span></blockquote><blockquote class="tr_bq"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">“His friends, who were with him that night, confirmed that on arrival at the hotel, the deceased joined them at the pool bar where they all had drinks together before retiring to his hotel room to meet his girlfriend, who he was expecting.</span></blockquote><blockquote class="tr_bq"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">“At about 12.15pm the next day, one of the hotel’s housekeepers, who was carrying out a routine clean-up at checkout found the lifeless body of Michael on the bed.”</span></blockquote><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">He said the hotel management immediately alerted the police.</span><blockquote class="tr_bq"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">“There was no complicity on the part of the hotel. Her story is now coming to light because of a legal investigation into the cause of Jenny’s death.<a name="more"></a></span></div><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Her mother, Debra Fry, told the Mirror that Jenny suffered from blinding headaches, fatigue, concentration problems, and bladder issues that she says were caused by electro-hypersensitivity syndrome (EHS), a condition in which electromagnetic radiation emitted from wireless technology, including Wi-Fi, cellphones, and cell towers, causes debilitating physical symptoms.Although Jenny’s parents had removed Wi-Fi from their home, which helped, it was still present at her school.</span><blockquote class="tr_bq"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">“Both Jenny and I were fine at home, but Jenny continued to be ill at school in certain areas,” said Fry.Jenny received several detentions in school, not for being disruptive in class, but because she’d often have to leave the classroom to find an area away from Wi-Fi where she could concentrate. </span></blockquote><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Fry had shared information about Wi-Fi’s potential problems with the head teacher of Jenny’s school, Simon Duffy, but according to Fry, Duffy told her there was an equal amount of information that shows Wi-Fi is harmless.</span><blockquote class="tr_bq"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">“I also had a heated exchange with teachers telling them Jenny was allergic to Wi-Fi, and that it made no sense making her take detentions in rooms that were making her ill,” said Fry. “The least they could do was allow her to take them in rooms where she felt able to concentrate, but they wouldn’t listen.”</span></blockquote><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Fry believes Jenny’s suicide attempt was meant to be a cry for help. A police statement said that on the day Jenny died, she had texted a friend twice, telling the friend about her intentions to commit suicide and stating where she was, according to the Mirror. But her friend didn’t have her phone with her to see the texts in time.</span><blockquote class="tr_bq"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">“Jenny left letters for us where she said she couldn’t cope with her allergies from Wi-Fi anymore,” Fry told the Telegraph. “She left them for us in case things went too far, but I don’t believe she wanted to die.”</span></blockquote>
