The president, who turned 56 a couple of days ago, was discharged after spending one night in the medical facilities after being treated for stomach related problem . It was earlier reported that President Jonathan could not attend the scheduled meeting of Nigeria's Honorary International Investors' Council due to his sudden illness. It has been revealed that after being discharged early this morning, he was able to arrive at the Investor's Council meeting a few minutes ago.

Operatives of the Special Fraud Unit, SFU, Milverton Road, Ikoyi, Lagos have arrested a 24-year-old man who posed as a lady to defraud a United States of America couple of $42,497, purportedly for the purchase of a property in Lagos. The suspect, identified as Olafinraye Adedamola, admitted the offence while being paraded yesterday <img scr="http://img.naij.com/thumbnails/n/10/3/olafinraye.jpg"/> He was said to have connived with a Malaysian lady to defraud the couple. The Malaysian lady, according to him, was his Facebook friend, adding that he had intended to use the money to further his studies in a tertiary institution. How he was arrested Explaining how the artisan who trained in aluminum works was arrested, spokesperson for the unit, Ngozi Isintume-Agu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said: "An intelligence report dated September 24, 2013 from Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), Abuja addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Special Fraud Unit (SFU) alleged that one Olafinraye Adedamola opened a USD Domiciliary Account No. 273/6980678251/0 with the Demurin, Ketu, Lagos Branch of Sterling Bank Plc and through suspicious circumstances, cumulative sum of USD 42,497 was paid into the account by unsuspecting victims abroad between August 13, 2013 and September 16, 2013. "The suspected illicit inflows were followed by immediate cash withdrawals by the suspect who appeared to have no known affiliation with the international depositors. "SFU operatives swung into action and investigation carried out on the domiciliary account revealed that $18,129.92 is still left in the account and a lien was immediately placed on the account. "The suspect was traced to his house at 7, Agidi Road, Oshogun, Alapere, Ketu, Lagos but he evaded police arrest and his father, a proprietor of a moribund driving school, feigned ignorance of his son's whereabouts. However, the fleeing suspect was later apprehended by the Police. "Olafinraye Adedamola who posed as a lady named Janet was born in 1989 in Kosofe LGA Ketu, Lagos. "An artisan who trained in construction of aluminum but currently a driving instructor in his father's moribund driving school located in Ketu, Lagos claimed he met a Nigerian at a conference in Malaysia who introduced him to the victim who requested that he purchased property for him in Nigeria which was the basis for the disbursement of the money into his account and that he had already bought a building at Ogba, Ikeja for N4 million and that the documents were with him." I intended to further my studies with the money- Suspect Adedamola who noted that this was his first attempt, said he first met the couple on Facebook and in the course of their discussion, booked for a meeting in Malaysia. According to him; "I posed as Janet on the Facebook, using a white woman's photograph. I told the couple that I was an estate manager and convinced them to buy property in Lagos. "Since they have not been to Nigeria, they asked us to meet elsewhere and when I stumbled on a business conference that was holding in Malasia, I booked the meeting. "On reaching Malaysia, I told a Facebook lady friend to pose as Janet after telling her what to say. That was how the deal was struck and they paid the dollar equivalent of N3.4 million into my account. I intended to use the money to further my studies because I am determined to be a graduate. I used part of the money to travel again to Malaysia for leisure in August. "My regret is that I was caught at the end because I used my genuine data to open the account. I guess it was because it is my first time." The suspect, according to Isintume-Agu, will be charged to court.

I am the one who arranged a seven-man armed robbery gang led by Godogodo to rob my older brother, Ibrahim who was carrying my father’s money amounting to $383,000. “I told the gang that my father had dollars. The first operation was when Ibrahim wanted to convey money from local airport to international airport, I called Godogodo and gave him the car number plate and the colour of the car.I told them not to kill my brother, but to shoot into the air. I knew my brother would release the money because my father told us not to drag money with armed robbers. They collected $350,000 and gave me only two bundles which is $20,000. “In the second operation they stopped my brother in front of Air Force Bus Stop and collected $33,000 and they gave me $8,000.” The suspect, who is now in SARS custody, also confessed to be part of the deadly Godogodo gang. “I am a member of the robbery gang. My role is to find targets and also information which I give to the gang. That is why they call me ‘Target man’.” Another suspect, Okechukwu Lawrence, who was arrested alongside Mohammed, confessed that he was the one handling the weapons for the gang. The indigene of Imo State said, “My work is to keep ammunition for the gang after collecting AK47 rifles from the policemen the gang shot dead. I joined the gang to get enough money to boost my spare parts business in Ladipo market.” The dangerous Godogodo has also owned up to the crime. Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, told Punch that the suspects would soon be charged to court.

A young lady who was conveying a large sum of money which belonged to her boss to the bank, with two mobile police officers was double crossed by armed robbers and shot several times. One of the police officers was also shot and the second one managed to escape with bullet injuries. As the robbers made to escape, they were interrupted, which made them shoot randomly killing innocent people. This is not the first time the lady and the mobile police officers will be conveying such a large amount of money to the bank before the unfortunate incident took place on Tuesday. The importer which she worked for is said to be among the richest in Alaba market. The police had since moved the dead bodies to the mortuary. All they<br/> do is establish that these bible-fanatics are not committed to the truth.<br/> <br/> Christians generally believe little David killed mighty Goliath, according to the<br/> “infallible” account of 1 Samuel 17:50-51. This feat is drummed into us from<br/> childhood.<br/> However, the same “infallible” bible also credits the killing of Goliath to Elhanan,<br/> one of David’s mighty men.<br/> <br/> 2 Samuel says:<br/> There was another battle with the Philistines at Gob, and Elhanan son of Jair<br/> from Bethlehem killed Goliath from Gath.” (2 Samuel 21:19<br/> This record of Elhanan (as opposed to David) killing Goliath can be found in many<br/> bible translations but other bible translations of the same 2 Samuel 21:19 say<br/> Elhanan killed “the brother of Goliath.” These translations include the King James<br/> Version (KJV); New King James Version (NKJV); The Living Bible (TLB); and New<br/> Living Translation (NLT).<br/> <br/> Of the latter, the New King James Version is remarkably unreliable.<br/> As a matter of policy, King James sometimes adds its own words to bible verses,<br/> effectively doctoring their meaning.<br/> <br/> Although the translation says Elhanan slew “the brother of Goliath;” the words “the<br/> brother of” are written in italics, indicating that they do not appear in the original<br/> Hebrew text but were added at the discretion of NKJV translators.<br/> However, my purpose here is not just to demonstrate the fallibility of the bible.<br/> Bible-worshipping Christians will always reject that fact no matter what.<br/> <br/> My purpose is to determine if David killed Goliath.<br/> The question then arises as to which version are we going to believe? Should we<br/> believe the classical position that David killed Goliath, or should we believe the<br/> equally biblical position that Elhanan killed Goliath?<br/> For a number of reasons, the account stating that David killed Goliath is the less<br/> believable.<br/> It is in the tradition of kings and rulers to take credit for other people’s<br/> achievements under their kingdom. David was no exception to this.<br/> <br/> Saul and David<br/> The account of David killing Goliath is so full of contradictions that it is clear it is<br/> the fabricated version.<br/> One of the problems with the account has to do with the inability of bible-writers to<br/> determine precisely when David first met Saul.<br/> <br/> We are told that when Saul transgressed against the Lord, God sent an evil spirit to<br/> trouble him. (1 Samuel 16:14). Someone then recommended to Saul that he should<br/> hire David to play the harp, offering the dubious thesis that soothing music is a<br/> demon-repellent.<br/> <br/> But then the man recommending David said something strange: he extolled David,<br/> a young teenager who was not even old enough to be in the army, as a man of<br/> war:<br/> I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a<br/> mighty man of valor, a man of war.” (1 Samuel 16:18<br/> This description is a giveaway. It is obviously written after the fact. There is no<br/> basis for describing David, a youth keeping sheep, as “a mighty man of valour”<br/> and “a man of war.”<br/> <br/> By all accounts, David was not even a man yet. On this recommendation, Saul sent<br/> word to Jesse, David’s father, that his son should be seconded to him.<br/> <br/> However, David entered Saul’s service not as a harp-playing musician, but as his<br/> armour-bearer, even though we are told later that Saul’s armour was too heavy for<br/> David. (1 Samuel 17:38-39).<br/> <br/> Nevertheless, whenever Saul came under attack by the evil spirit, David would play<br/> a harp and the evil spirit would depart. Saul quickly took a liking to David, and he<br/> sent to his father a second time that David’s secondment to him should become<br/> permanent. (1 Samuel 16:22).<br/> <br/> However, when we get to the incident where David is alleged to have killed Goliath,<br/> we discover to our surprise that this same David, who was supposed to be Saul’s<br/> armour-bearer/musician, had never met Saul before.<br/> In that contradictory account, David was just a young boy tending sheep. His<br/> father sent him to deliver lunch to his two brothers at the war-front.<br/> <br/> On arriving there, he found Goliath terrorizing everybody and offered to fight<br/> against him.<br/> <br/> He was then brought to Saul who, on meeting him for the very first time, said to<br/> him:<br/> “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a<br/> youth, and he a man of war from his youth.” (1 Samuel 17:33).<br/> <br/> However, in the earlier version, David was specifically introduced to Saul as “a man<br/> of war.”<br/> Contrary to the earlier account where Saul sent emissaries to David’s father twice,<br/> he now did not know who David’s father was.<br/> <br/> <b>Conclusion - The bible is a book written and compiled by men; and men are not<br/> infallible.</b></div>
